The Performance score

A single 0 to 100 score from a stock earnings and price history, with weights you can tune.

Where: Any stock page (Performance Insights)

Performance Insights boils a stock's earnings and price history into a single 0 to 100 score, with a rating from Weak to Exceptional. It reads 8 quarters of earnings and 3 years of price data.

The five components

The score is a weighted blend of:

  • Growth Acceleration - is EPS and revenue growth speeding up or slowing down
  • Profitability - how consistently the company makes money
  • Price Performance - the stock's 3-year return
  • Beat Consistency - how reliably it beats estimates
  • Stability - how steady and predictable the results are

Growth and Profitability carry the most weight. Expand any component to see the detail behind it, or open How scores work for the full breakdown.

Rating scale

  • Weak 0-44
  • Average 45-59
  • Strong 60-69
  • Exceptional 70-100

Make it your own

Customize weights lets you set how much each of the five components counts, so you can weigh price action more heavily than growth, or the reverse. Custom weights apply to individual stock views only; the screener always uses the default weights.
